Hollywood DP & lighting director Christian Epps is using his success to build bridges for others

Christian Epps has worked with directors in Hollywood like Ava DuVernay and Spike Lee. His credits also include the Oscar-winning film “Selma”. Recently he took a professional lighting assignment on Beyonce’s “BLACK IS KING,” and turned into an opportunity for Lights, Camera, Diaspora! (LCD!). The non-profit was founded by Epps, to help bridge the gap between the African and African-Diaspora entertainment industries to progress the aesthetic quality and business opportunities for African film, broadcast and live events on the Continent and in the African Diaspora. He tells Carlos Amezcua why he started the non-profit and how much work comes out of what’s known as “Nollywood”.
