In 2011, Carlos Amezcua interviewed José Hernández of Mariachi Sol de México to learn more about the Mariachi Heritage Society, a school for young musicians in El Monte, California.

Hernández tells Amezcua about how mariachi music has always been a part of his life and how teaching the next generation is important to him.
