Meet 14-year-old philanthropist Jahkil Jackson

Jahkil Jackson is a 14-year-old philanthropist from Chicago, who began his activism when he was just 8. He had a heartfelt desire to help those experiencing homelessness. He helps the homeless population by offering them what he calls “Blessing Bags,” a giveaway filled with things like wipes, socks, deodorant, hand sanitizer, granola bars, and more. Since starting his philanthropy work, Jahkil has led the effort to raise over $200,000 for those in need and created “Project I Am” to do just that.

Jahkil tells Carlos Amezcua about being acknowledged as one of three influential people of 2017 by President Barack Obama, calling it the “best day of his life.” Plus how the two have basketball in common.

Plus Jahkil has written a book called “I Am”.

He’s also been recognized by BET, Disney’s Be Inspired Black History Campaign, Lebron James’ #AlwaysBelieve 2018 campaign and is now a Marvel SuperHero and CNN Hero Young Wonder!

Jahkil recently made his acting debut on NBC’s Chicago P.D.! Find out more about his philanthropy work at officialprojectiam.com
